The National Center of Meteorology has forecast generally fair to partly cloudy conditions across the UAE on Sunday, with the possibility of afternoon convective cloud formation over eastern, southern and inland areas. Some of these clouds may bring rainfall, while the country remains under the influence of a surface low-pressure extension from the east and an upper-level low-pressure extension that could support local cloud development.
Temperatures are expected to remain high in most parts of the country. Internal areas may see highs between 45°C and 49°C, while coastal and island locations are forecast at 41°C to 46°C. Mountainous regions are expected to be cooler, with readings ranging from 32°C to 38°C. Relative humidity is predicted to vary between 15% and 70%, with the highest levels likely along the coast and on islands.
Winds are expected to stay light to moderate, moving from southeast to northeast at 10 to 25 km/h, but they may strengthen at times to 40 km/h. That increase could raise dust and sand in some areas. Sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. The NCM said similar conditions are likely over the next few days, including afternoon cloud development in eastern and southern parts of the country on Monday, 10 August, and Wednesday, 12 August, a gradual dip in temperatures on Tuesday, 11 August, and a slight rise again on Thursday, 13 August. Residents were advised to follow official weather updates.
